An Idea For Me!
So Garrin has inspired me to ride atleast 22 miles avg. speed of 20 mph. on my bike by April 15 (Tax Day). So while this is kind of a long term goal, I would encourage you all to make a goal running or biking a long distance (over 10 miles) by that time as well. Garrett and Kari when we come down in April, we can all go out together and do a HardyChallenge marathon. And have a type of competition to see how far we have progressed in our effort to improve our health. Let me know what you all think and post what your long term goal will be. Good luck and Happy Birthday Grandma Kari!

Eric, I started riding two years ago because my brother-in-law was riding. We are about the same frame type and weight. I am 6'2" and starting weight was 255. I saw how much weight he had lost over riding so I joined him and his friends would drop me every time during the rides. My health was horrible. My trigyecorites 700 something and cholesterol was like 300 something.
I prepare for a 67 miles race in 3 months training. And did it in 5 hours 59 minutes. A year later I rode 109 in 7 hours. My goal is to ride 109 miles under 6 hours. I had mechanical troubles this year but I would have been close. I weight about 230 now. I was down to 220 when I did the 109. Holiday weight came back. But my idea weight would be 185 to 190 and be able to ride 23 to 25 mph for 109 miles. From what I have read it will take about 2 or 3 years to get there. Anyhow just thought I would let you know that is a good goal to have 22 miles while avg 20 mph. Do you ride alot?
